A Project Digital Archive initiative
The 14th Malé Rover Crew is a team of young adult Scouts committed to service, leadership, and preserving the heritage of Scouting in the Maldives. Guided by the values of Rover Scouting, the crew works to create meaningful projects that strengthen the movement and serve the wider community.
Through Project Digital Archive, the crew has taken on the responsibility of documenting and preserving the history of Scouting in the Maldives, bringing together photographs, documents, interviews, and personal accounts that might otherwise be lost over time.
The project is more than a collection of memories. It is an ongoing effort to honour those who shaped Maldivian Scouting, make its history accessible to the public, and inspire future generations through a record of the movement's people, milestones, and stories.
The work is supported by Scout leaders, youth members, alumni, contributors, and collaborators from different professional backgrounds, each bringing their knowledge and experience to the archive.
Through historical research, photography, interviews, digitisation, and digital storytelling, the 14th Malé Rover Crew continues to preserve and share the legacy of Scouting across the Maldives.
Project Digital Archive began with a simple concern: many photographs, records, and personal stories from the history of Scouting in the Maldives were scattered, difficult to access, or at risk of being lost.
Recognising the need for a dedicated place to preserve this material, the 14th Malé Rover Crew began developing a digital archive that could bring historical resources together and make them accessible to future generations.
What started as an archival effort has grown into a wider initiative involving research, community contributions, interviews, photography, exhibitions, and digital storytelling - all working toward a more complete record of Maldivian Scouting history.
