Behind Our Journey
Initiative of Project Digital Archive
14th Malé Rover Crew
The 14th Malé Rover Crew is a dynamic and passionate crew of young adult Scouts committed to service, leadership, and preserving the values of Scouting in the Maldives. As part of the National Rover Scouting framework, our crew stands for responsibility, exploration, and community impact.
Rooted in the spirit of initiative and guided by Scouting principles, we have taken on the responsibility of documenting and preserving the rich history of Scouting in the Maldives through the Project Digital Archive.
This initiative is more than just a collection of memories. It is a national effort to honour the past, empower the present, and inspire future generations. We aim to capture the essence of Scouting through photographs, interviews, training sessions, and veteran stories. The project reflects our core values: duty to community, pride in heritage, and commitment to knowledge sharing.
Apart from the Project Management Team, the team includes Scout leaders, youth members, alumni, and collaborators from various professional backgrounds all contributing their time and expertise to ensure the success of this initiative.
Through collaborative efforts, including photography sessions, historical research, and digital storytelling, the 14th Malé Rover Crew continues to serve the movement, ensuring that the Scouting spirit lives on in every corner of the Maldives.
How the Initiative Started
The idea for the Project Digital Archive was born from a shared realization by 14th Malé Rover Crew members. Many memorable moments, photographs, and stories of the Maldivian Scout movement were at risk of being lost or forgotten.
With limited centralized documentation and growing interest in heritage preservation, the 14th Malé Rover Crew took the initiative to launch this project.
What began as a simple realization quickly evolved into a national call for contributions and storytelling supported by community engagement, partnerships, and a vision for a unified historical platform for Scouting in the Maldives.
To document, preserve, and share the rich heritage of Scouting in the Maldives for future generations.
To create a permanent and accessible digital archive that honors the values, growth, and contributions of the Scout Movement in the Maldives.
“Mahaldheeb Scoutun is a meaningful effort to preserve our Scouting heritage and carry its spirit forward with pride.”
